Export Collada with textures using Maya 2009
So - I was really excited to get Maya2009 running on my machine, but then to my horror I discovered that the ColladaMaya plugin didn't support this version of maya. Well, I guess they did something about it, though it wasn't easy to find.... after some digging, I found this link:
anyhow - after I did that, I just installed it, then in Maya I clicked on Window>Settings/Preferences>Plug-In Manager, and turned on MayaCollada plugin.
in order to know exactly which settings to use, this blog was helpful:

Dymanic Menu - Flash AS3
This is a fun little menu I developed for goalquest way back, and decided to re-do it using AS3. Aparently wasn't a bad idea - it runs much better, and has a lot more flexibility (well.. that's because I just used classes this time around)....here's what it looks like now. Better, motion blur, and overall movement, and I added a much adored AS3 function that knows when the courser "has left the house"... nice.
if anyone wants to use it - be my guest. I'm posting the source files here (the menu is editable with XML - so if you don't want to get your hands 'dirty' and just use it as is - you can).
Hello World
OK - I'm starting a blog. I feel very silly, but I have to put my Flash experiments somewhere organized, and this is the best place... so... that's what I'm doing.
